Details

An important contemporary art exhibition, ' Water Rising: making art from storm to calm' is about the drama and fascination of water, and our potential future attitudes to it in this era of mounting climate change. We are predicted to have ever-rising water levels for the next century.

This exhibition shows work by artists who have thought about this - about the risks and the creativity we need to cope. Internationally famous artists have worked in film, drawing, painting, glass, ceramic and photography and include Susan Hiller, Simon Faithfull, Lynn Dennison, Peter Matthews. Stewart Hearn, Roger Coulam, Annie Turner, Sophie Merritt.

All GroundWork Gallery's exhibitions campaign for a better environment and there is also a conference on May 17th , 10.30 - 6.00 pm (cost of tickets £26.50 via gallery website / Eventbrite) at Thoresby College & where we will discuss some of the important issues about rising water from a whole range of different points of view and subjects.
